Advanced Medical First Responder
This 40 hour comprehensive course is designed for the person who is interested in taking a more active role in emergency situations, building on existing standard first aid foundation skills. Students will be introduced to a thorough standardized assessment protocol, oxygen administration and advanced injury management skills. The courses are student oriented with pre-course self-study and evaluation, lots of hands-on scenarios, skills stations and realistic practical sessions to maximize relevance. The MFR course is suitable for employers looking to establish on-site response teams, which can better handle traumatic injuries, work in remote environments, or where the risk of injury is more significant and for individuals looking to prepare themselves for emergency service careers. Minimum prerequisite: St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid + CPR Level C Certificate. Pre-study guide, textbooks and stethoscope included in course fee.
